We rented a truck from this place and they assured us that the fees charged to my card would be $35. 3 days later there was a pending charge of $79, so we called and they assured us again that it was a pending fee and it would only go through for $35. 2 days later when the charged cleared for the full $79, we contacted the man again and he stated that he told us about the additional fees, which never happened. DO NOT RENT TRUCKS FROM THIS BUSINESS AND IF YOU DO PAY CASH ONLY. HE IS A CROOK.
We reserved a truck and were set up to pick it up from the Fonda Dairy Bar location at 22 Bridge Street in Fonda NY 12068. When we arrived on time for our reservation the location was closed and no one was there to give us our truck. We called Uhaul and she contacted the owner who confirmed they were not there and that our truck was there but was still filled with the previous customers items! The woman on the phone was also very snippy and inconsiderate and preferred to explain it was not her fault rather than politely remedy our situation. We were forced to go to another Uhaul location to pickup a truck - farther away and were forced to pay the additional mileage! It was a HUGE INCONVENIENCE AND ADDED EXPENSE and we are furious with these services. The owners at the new location: Tool She'd Equipment Rental in Johnstown NY were very nice and provided us what we needed, however our experience with Uhaul Co. and specifically the Fonda Dairy Bar locations was horrible and we will never be using them again!
